We investigated several possible locations for a North West London Parkway (NWLP) on HS2, a principal objective for NWLP being to provide an interchange between HS2 as proposed and the conventional rail network, in addition to parkway facilities. We considered Misbourne Park, to be a rail interchange between High Speed 2 and a London Rail Orbital that we were, at one time, proposing. (Misbourne Park is referenced in our article London Orbital Services ). We also considered Beaconsfield East which would have intersected with one of the options for the route of HS2, albeit a route option that is no longer being considered. A third location on the north side of M.25 junction 21A was also considered, located on a possible HS2 HS1 link line on an east west alignment (for which visit Introduction to an HS2 HS1 link via east west rail . This third location is referenced in note 9 of our article Possible new lines in the vicinity of St Albans ). We finally settled on a location in the vicinity of Aylesbury, being the location we wish to propose. The station is named Aylesbury Interchange.
We anticipate that Aylesbury Interchange would be used primarily as a rail interchange, however the station would also provide parkway facilities.
